A 130 pound Bullmastiff, 2 Chocolate Labradors, and Little Boy

A 130lb Bullmastiff 2 Chocolate Labradors and Little Boy

Irvine Pet & Family Photographer

Gorgeous weather.  I love photographing families and children, especially, super happy loving families.  Adorable little boy Brennan.  Just 19 months old. Fascinated with the world, toddling, falling down, getting back up, falling down again,  and just darn happy and healthy.  He looked like a little drunk little man, trying to maintain his balance, wobbling, falling down, pushing himself up and just laughing at life.  His parents dote on him and rightly so.  Their other babies are fur babies, a 130 pound Bullmastiff, and two Chocolate labs mellow and cuddly.  Their Bullmastiff was recently diagnosed with bone cancer which was a terrible blow to the family.  But they have him on some great doggie meds and he’s doing quite fine.  Just finds it a bit tough to get around sometimes because his back legs are bothering him quite a bit.  But he still made it up and down the hills in this lovely park.  I’m proud to say that I’m an Irvine pet and family photographer.

Toy Poodle Pet Photography Session

Pippi is a Parti color, Toy Poodle with no docked tail.  Parti color means that Pippy shows different colors or tints; especially, she  has a predominant color broken  up by patches of light brown and blonde-brown.  She’s a super fast doggie with a happy disposition. Her mama Cathy drives a big white pick up truck, so Pippi gets around in style! We had a super fun, end of summer, Orange County, sunset, pet photography session.

BTW:  Cathy, Pippi’s momma just happens to be in charge of  Services Administration and Client Relations at one of the finest pet hospitals in Orange County, Newport Harbor Animal Hospital.

Dogy Day Afternoon with Sparky & Wiley

Anaheim Hills Dog Photography

Mike is a film maker and the man behind the lens at Mission Visual. We’ve been friends for almost ten years now, and met when I was photographing yacht weddings in Newport Harbor.   I wanted to photograph some big breed dawgs so I headed over to the McCaleb household in Anaheim Hills and then we walked over to a local park for some a fun double dog photography session.

Wiley a pure breed Husky and Sparky the German Shepard mystery mix dawg might as well have been cats!  They were not in the least bit interested in me.  Especially not at all interested in having any dog photography done.  They are both fairly very independent and as such, totally into doing their own thing.  They did mind me briefly when I attempted to doggie bribe them with my handy Zukes Mini Natural Salmon Treats (all natural, gluten and wheat free, corn-free and soy-free).  But it was only temporary and Sparky totally turned his nose up at that.  But he like the Wellness Pure Rewards:  Turkey Jerky (grain-free and wheat-free) and thought I was kinda cool for just having some yummy jerky with me.

Later on, after the shoot when Mike had seen his ridiculously wonderful pet photography images, he told me:  “You know, its so cool that you were able to capture Wiley doing that pig face thing.  At home, he’ll push his nose up against the sliding glass doors on the porch with his tongue hanging out and just stare inside at us.”

BTW: If you noticed the dog harnesses, that’s because Sparky & Wiley take Mike for walks in Anaheim Hills, and not the other way around.

Anaheim is home to Disney Land and one of the most famous and often photographed dogs on the planet, Pluto.

Location:  Anaheim Hills, California

Doggie-Dress-Up for Ko Ko & Lucy

OLD TOWN TUSTIN DOG  PHOTOGRAPHY

Natalie was so excited to have her fur-babies photographed and I was equally excited to photograph them. If you know Natalie, she is free spirited and fun-loving and has a great laugh. They say that pets take on the personality of their owners and this couldn’t be more true for Ko Ko (named after a large, full figured dark skinned singer),which is a hoot because she’s the little Chiuaua-Terrier mix and Lucy is a gorgeous pure breed Spaniel. If they could laugh out loud there would have been four of us laughing at the doggie antics that took place during this doggie-dress-up shoot! We had a blast together, and I really appreciate that Natalie took the time to pick out a few fun outfits and the famous traveling sweater that she tried to give away to friends so many times (but nobody wanted it, so…) it ended up being a doggie wrap and part of today’s dog photography fashion project.

Poor Ko Ko just could’nt get to these yummy heart shaped doggie treats on her own. She tried and tried but her little legs just weren’t big enough to reach over the edge. So we ended up styling her out and gave her one ’cause she’d worked so hard to try to get a hold of them.

“Dude!  Get off me you dummy. Can’t you see I’m trying to pose for my pictures. I mean really what’s with your hind legs on top of me. Get a grip Ko Ko, it’s one thing if you like sleeping on top of me when your bushed, I’m cool with that. But not when I’m looking all pretty have my chance to be famous!”

Yeah, yeah. I know I used the center image a second time here, but I love it and it just works so well along side the other images.

Now….I know what you’re thinking here. But I’m Not a Piglet, I’m not! I’m not! I’m not!

Repeat after me….You’re Not a Piglet, You’re Not, You’re Not, You’re Not!

For any one who is looking to do a pet photography session in Tustin, this park is located a few blocks from my Orange County pet photography studio.   It also has an playground,  plenty of space to do pet photography and lots of space for dogs to run and a water fountain for when they get thirsty.

Seattle – Drive By Shooting

SEATTLE DOG AND PET PHOTOGRAPHY

When I travel, I love, love, love to walk and walk and do dog and pet photography along the way. Here’s a coupl’a images of dogs that I captured while walking around Seattle.

The first one below, I was in mid sentence with some guy who was asking questions about my camera and saw this image out of the corner of my blueye.  I instinctively turned to and popped off 3-4 images and got this mug-shot.  Needless to day I love dog photography!

The dog photography below was taken as I was doing my walk-about in Olympic Sculpture Park. I just happened to be walking back towards my hotel when I came across this scene of a dog playing fetch on a hillside with this perfect sky looking out towards the Puget Sound.

For me citys are visual playgrounds. When I travel, I love to explore, camera in hand. This pet photography image of a cat dressed up like his eccentric owner was captured across the street from the Pike Place Fish Market and just down the block from the original Starbucks.

Pet owners lover their dogs. After all, they are part of their family and their owners typically take it as a compliment when I ask to do some dog photography of their fur-babies. Such was the case with this little snow ball and this wonderful French Bull Dog.
