Kittie-Dress-Up in San Diego

San Diego Pet Photography

Previously, I posted a fun Doggie-Dress-Up pet photography session with Ko Ko and Lucy. Normally I do most of my dog and pet photography in Orange County and the Newport Beach area, but whenever I get the chance to go down to San Diego, I jump on it!  Plus the weather is always a bit cooler in San Diego.  And I was going down there to photograph sibling Main Coons.

Main Coons are a special breed of cat.  Wikipedia defines the Maine Coon as: “…One of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically native to the state of Maine, where it is the official State Cat…The breed was popular in cat shows in the late 1800s, but its existence became threatened when long-haired breeds from overseas were introduced in the early 20th century. The Maine Coon has since made a comeback and is now one of the most popular cat breeds in the world.”  The Maine Coon is noted for its large bone structure, its rectangular body shape, and a long, flowing coat. The breed can be seen in a variety of colors and are known for their intelligence  and gentle personalities.

My observations with Zach and Zoey differ with each feline.  Zoey is the smaller of the two and is shy and a bit skittish.  Zach, is more dominant, can be fierce but is playful, he’s a bit more intelligent.  During the winter months, Zach is sporting a big mane. Both kitties are super lovable and like to give and receive attention. But, be warned Maine Coons are major shedders, so if you can bare with lots, and l do mean lots of hair bunnies in your home, these cats are the prefect companion for you.

In camouflage:  Zoey is stalking another cat that she’s got the hots for.  And, whenever she’s stalking she’s always incognito.  See how well she blends in!?

The Hillcrest section of  San Diego is one of my favorite places.  Full of great restaurants, home of Bread and Cie and Arrivederci, both just off University Avenue.  There’s always something happening in San Diego on the weekends and Hillcrest its right near Mission and Pacific Beaches.

Location:  San Diego, California

Newport Beach I Dog Photography I with Cinnamon the Puppy

Newport Beach Dog Photography

Wana know what a Cavalier King Charles – Spaniel looks like with a sprinkle of spice?  That would be Cinnamon pictured below. We had a super fun pet photography session in Newport Beach.  Last year I photographed Cinnamon’s inseparable pal Sami.  So when I heard she got a new puppy, I was super excited to meet Cinnamon and photograph her in the Newport Beach, Bonita Canyon Sports Park. She’s already gone to puppy training school and is super-puppy trained. After photographing her with the Wild Flowers as a background, Michelle (Cinny & Sami’s mom) let her off the leash in the park and Cinnamon tore it up. She was running around the soccer field so fiercely I could barely keep track of her. So, after she spent some energy Cinny was ready for her next  Newport Beach pet photography session.  She asked me if I’d take some ridiculously wonderful fun, candid, photographs of her howling and playing in the grass. You can see how they turned out below. BTW: I never asked her to pose. She’s a natural!

For any one who is looking to do a pet photography session in Newport Beach.  Bonita Canyon Sport Park may fit your style.
